This is the first of what we hope will be regular email updates to keep you in touch with developments at MCDC, here in the UK and also in Ghana.
At the outset, we would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'thank you' for your support. We now have sponsors for more than 20 of the 60 or so children at the Centre, and earlier this month Misthy received the first payment from us to spend on essential items for the children.
The other exciting piece of news is that a contact of ours is travelling to Ghana in early June, and is offering to take some letters with him for safe delivery to Misthy. If you would like to write and introduce yourself to your sponsored child (but don't feel that you have to), please let us have an A5 envelope containing a maximum of 3 sheets (eg letter, picture, photo, stickers) by Tuesday 5th June.
Please keep to this limit for now (we don't want to weigh the poor chap down!), and we will give you details shortly of how you can send some slightly larger gifts in October.
In the meantime, please mention the charity to your friends, and let them know that there are children at the Centre who would welcome their support. Our experience so far, and we can see no reason why this should change, is that every penny of your monthly contribution is going to help the children whose lives you are changing.
