12 October 2007: HATW volunteers on school-building project
A Bristol-based team of volunteers left the UK to spend four weeks in Ghana, on a project organised by Hands Around The World to help build a school at the Misthy Cee Development Centre in Akomadan.
The project was a great success, with good progress made on the building by the Ghanaian builders (with some assistance from the volunteers), and gave us an ideal opportunity to get to know the children at the Centre and immerse ourselves in the daily activities in the town (more stories and photos to follow).

On the day before we left the UK, we were shocked to learn that Misthy (who has one weak leg from a childhood illness) had broken his good leg, with the result that he was unable to walk for the entire time that we were in Akomadan.
